USS Meets

There are usually several USS sanctioned meets that GLSC commits to attend each swimming session (season). This is a voluntary commitment on the part of the swimmer and their family to attend these, because some of the meets are "out of town". Part of the membership fees to belong to GLSC are used to pay for our coaches to be at the meets that are posted on the calendar. Most of these events are held on both Saturday and Sunday. It is not necessarily the case that you would have to attend all sessions on both days. It depends on which events the swimmer wants to do and when the host clubs schedules them. The information that gets posted for each meet usually has a schedule of events, so that you can schedule around other family commitments. The swimmers commitment to competing in these events on a regular basis will be acknowledged. These meets represent a great chance to swim with possibly several hundred competitors at all skill levels.
